Lekithos – The Lecithin People®

In 1846, French pharmacist Theodore Gobley first isolated phospholipids from hen’s egg yolks. Lekithos is the Greek word for “egg yolk”. He later named his discovery lecithin. Lekithos Inc. was established in 2011 with the mission to offer premium quality sunflower lecithin supplements.

Lecithin is mostly obtained from (genetically modified) soybeans. In the past few years, a growing number of health conscious consumers were looking for an allergen-free alternative to soy lecithin. Today, that alternative is available in various forms of sunflower lecithin from Lekithos, offering the largest selection of sunflower lecithin for end users and small businesses.

As we continue to grow, so does our product assortment. It began in 2014 by introducing organic sunflower protein powder, and we have since added several single ingredient, organic whole food proteins and related organic nutritional oils.
